Charlet's first experience with writing for voice was a duet for soprano and tenor with harp accomaniment. The text is taken from Old Norse writings, more specifically the Hávamál. Stanza 144 and on, which are included in the song, describe Odin's acquisition of the sacred runes. The song may be performed in both Old Norse and Icelandic. It was premiered by Suzanne Brys (soprano), Guðmundur Davíðsson (tenor) and Stien De Neef (harp).
